Pemaquid Mist - Pemaquid Point Light - Maine

Pemaquid Mist

Pemaquid Point Lighthouse is one of the most photographed lighthouses in Maine. It sits at the tip of Pemaquid Peninsula, near Bristol Maine.

Most of my life we’ve vacation near Boothbay Harbor and we always make sure we stop at Pemaquid Light. On this trip, we hit Pemaquid just as the mist was clearing and it struck me how the ridges in the rocks radiated away from the lighthouse, reaching out to the ocean.

On a clear day, you can see Monhegan Island, another one of my favorite places in Maine. You can even catch the boat out to Monhegan in New Harbor, which isn’t too far away.

A little further North is the Rachel Carson Salt Pond. My wife and I aways take the kids there to see what we can find in the pond.
If you ever get up in that area of Maine, make sure you take some time to explore Pemaquid.
